What Are Your 2 Takeaways from the First 3 Weeks of the NHL Season?

The NHL season has been crazy so far, with many games going into overtimes and teams that don’t look good on paper, but are actually looking amazing on the ice. These are my two takeaways from the first couple of weeks from this years NHL season.

The San Jose Sharks

This team had a crazy offseason, but with the season underway they look like a very large contender for the Stanley Cup. They lost their star player Evander Kane, for him being arrested for using a fake vaccination card, and betting on his own games. He is still hearing about whether he will play again in the NHL this season, but this team without him looks amazing. The goaltending is solid and the forwards are preforming and scoring some amazing team goals. Definitely look out for them down the stretch.

The Calgary Flames

The Calgary Flames didn’t have a lot of work in the offseason, but they did switch their coach up with the addition of 2 time Stanley Cup Winner Darryl Sutter. As a Kings fan myself I really hated this addition because of the fact that Sutter won the cup 2 times with the Kings. With the Flames I think he can do some damage with this team and with all the firepower he’s got.

What are your guys top 2 takeaways? Put in the comments below and lets have a chat about it.

First Week of the NHL Season Underway!

With the new NHL Hockey season underway, there are a bunch of new things to cover for this season!

– New Expansion Team Seattle Kraken

-Darkhorse’s for this years playoffs

With the new 2021-2022 season, comes a new expansion team, the Seattle Kraken. This is a new and bright team with a bunch of young studs, that can have fun on and off the ice. One of my favorite things about this team is the marketing of the team and their jerseys. With the team being based in Seattle, there are a lot of seaports and cruises that leave through the city. Therefor the team was named after the best of the sea, a Kraken. Its vibrant colors of the jerseys create a very large eye grasping look.

I feel like this team will do some damage this year, I don’t think they will make the playoffs, but they will create some havoc at the end of the season when teams are fighting for playoff spots.

My Darkhorse’s for the 2021-2022 Playoffs (One team from the East, one from the West)

The New Jersey Devils – I feel like this team has been through a rough patch in the last couple of seasons. The only thing this team hasn’t had trouble with is its marketing and meme game on social media, those always give me a good laugh. With this young core featuring Jack Hughes, Nico Hischier, and Mackenzie Blackwood, i feel like this team has a chance of pushing for a playoff spot and even a first round upset. They have a lot of firepower and a lot of new defenseman gained in the offseason such as former Carolina Hurricane Douggie Hamilton, and former Colorado Avalanche player Ryan Graves.

The Los Angeles Kings – I feel like this team has been slept on heavily. Winning the cup in 2012 and 2014 did alot for them, but for the last couple of seasons they’ve been sluggish, almost tanking so that they can get better picks in the NHL Drafts. Well, it seems to be working for them, as they have the number one prospect pool in the NHL right now. With these young players and the likes of veteran players such as Anze Kopitar and Drew Doughty, I feel like the right balance within the team will take them to the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
